About
Natalino Crognaletti's Marche rosato from Montepulciano. Red fruit, citrus, herbs, bright acidity, dry finish. The opposite of a sweet poolside pour — built for spaghetti, pizza, charcuterie.
Fattoria San Lorenzo sits at Montecarotto, in the hills of Ancona province. It is a third-generation family farm. The Crognaletti family works 35 hectares by hand, spread across Montecarotto, Ostra, Ostra Vetere and Corinaldo.
Natalino holds to a traditional, faintly rustic style, out of step with fashion on purpose. Rosato Vera gets the same treatment as his reds: hand work in the vineyard, a light touch in the cellar. Nothing about the approach softens because the wine is pink.
Serve it cool rather than ice cold, so the savoury side stays in view. Drink the 2023 young, while it is at its freshest.
Producer note
Fattoria San Lorenzo is a respected organic producer in the Marche (central Italy). Natalino Crognaletti farms biodynamically and makes wines with low intervention.
