About
Mourvèdre-led blend from organically and biodynamically farmed clay-limestone vineyards. Salmon-coral colour. Saline, mineral, grippy — Bandol's Mourvèdre rosés are the most age-worthy rosés in the world. Pairs with proper food, not just sunshine.
Michel and Louis Bronzo bought this property at Sainte-Anne du Castellet in the early 1970s. Their ambition was Bandol wine that could stand beside the famous names of the southern Rhône. Cinsault and Grenache fill out the blend around the Mourvèdre.
The winemaking is deliberate. Pickers harvest by hand and sort the fruit before a gentle pressing. Mourvèdre goes straight to the press, while the Cinsault and Grenache sit briefly on skins for texture. The wine then rests on fine lees in stainless steel for several months before bottling.
Drink it at the table rather than the beach. It has the grip for roast chicken, garlicky Provençal food or a whole baked fish, and it will keep improving in bottle for years.
Producer note
Domaine de la Bastide Blanche (Bronzo family) is a benchmark Bandol estate — certified organic since the 1990s, biodynamic since 2020. Bandol's Mourvèdre-heavy rosés are widely considered the most ageworthy rosés in the world.
