About
Green apple, lime and slate glide across a delicate, feather-light palate, driven by electric acidity and remarkable length. Classic Kabinett — clearly sweet but incredibly light. The Graacher Himmelreich vineyard, with its blue slate soils, is known for elegance, perfume and finesse.
Graacher Himmelreich translates as "kingdom of heaven". The vineyard sits above the Mosel village of Graach, and Joh. Jos. Prüm is the most revered name attached to it. Collectors chase these bottles for a reason.
The winemaking gets out of the way. Gentle pressing, then a ferment in temperature-controlled stainless steel, nothing else. The 2023 lands at about 9 percent alcohol, which is why a glass feels weightless while still carrying flavour.
Drink it with anything hot or salty. Thai curries, sichuan food and fried chicken all work, because the sweetness cools the burn. Or cellar it without fear. These wines are famous for outliving the people who buy them.
