About
Bright, easy, pear-driven Gris with a clean dry finish. Spring Seed is the second label of one of McLaren Vale's pioneer organic estates.
The fruit comes off the Bosworth family's own vineyards in McLaren Vale, planted from the early 1970s. The family switched to organic farming in 1995 and the vines now hold full certification.
Poppy follows the lighter northern Italian read of the grape rather than the richer Alsace one. The grapes come in early, picked at night, which protects the delicate aromatics and keeps the natural acid intact. That choice is what gives the wine its snap.
Serve it cold. It earns its place as the bottle you open while dinner is still cooking, and it sits well beside a green salad. At this price it can be the house white all summer.
