About
Bright citrus, white peach, herbal lift, clean dry finish. The friendly Italian white for summer afternoons and seafood night.
The name comes from zagara, the white blossom of the lemon tree. The grapes grow on Sicily's west coast, where many of the vineyards face the sea and catch light reflected off the water.
Winemaking keeps out of the way. The juice ferments cool in stainless steel tanks, then rests for a short time on fine lees. That lees contact builds a little texture and a mineral edge without dulling the fruit.
Serve it well chilled and drink it young. It suits grilled fish, shellfish and simple pasta, and works just as well as the glass you pour while cooking.
