About
A polished mid-tier Pinot Gris from one of Orange's reliable producers. Cool-climate freshness without losing fruit.
The vines sit at 850 to 900 metres in the hills around Mount Canobolas, on rich basalt soil. That altitude keeps the nights cold through an Orange summer, which is where the crisp acid in this wine comes from.
Nick Segger grew up around organic farming in the UK. The idea for his own vineyard first took hold in 1994, during a vintage he and Tanya worked in Tuscany. It took them more than a decade of searching to find this site, which they finally planted in 2001. They still run the place hands-on. It's farmed under Sustainable Winegrowers Australia certification, which shows up as fruit that tastes clean rather than heavily worked.
Serve it properly cold, straight from the fridge. It is built for easy drinking on its own, or alongside a salad, roast chicken or a soft cheese board.
