About
Bright, citrus-driven Sémillon with crisp acidity and a clean, easy finish. From Australia's oldest continuously operating winery (est. 1828) — a piece of Aussie wine history.
George Wyndham planted the first vines at Dalwood in 1828, on the banks of the Hunter River near Branxton. For most of living memory the property traded as Wyndham Estate. New owners bought it in 2016 and restored the original name.
The site also claims Australia's first commercial shiraz vineyard, so its place in our wine story runs deeper than one grape. Still, Semillon is what the Hunter does best in white, and this is the local classic done straight.
Drink it young and cold. Oysters are the textbook match, and it earns its keep beside any simple seafood or a green salad. Low-key, refreshing, and carrying two centuries of history in the label.
