About
Michael Hall's ex-Burgundy training shows in this Pinot's restraint and structure. Finely judged.
The fruit for this Pinot comes from three Adelaide Hills sites, at Cudlee Creek, Lenswood and Piccadilly. For the 2024, Hall ran a wild ferment in an open fermenter with a third whole bunches. The wine then matured for eleven months in French oak, only a small portion of it new. The style lands at the savoury end of Australian Pinot: dark cherry, twiggy herbal notes, a truffle and mushroom edge.
This is the bottle to open with duck, roast pork or anything built on mushrooms. It drinks well now and will hold for a few years. If you like Pinot with more perfume than power, start here.
Producer note
Michael Hall is a former Burgundy winemaker whose Adelaide Hills wines reflect his European training.
